Extraction Is the Unclaimed Genre on Roblox

Every so often a genre sits in plain sight, assembled from parts that already work, waiting for someone to fuse them. On Roblox right now, extraction is that gap. The individual loops are all proven hits in isolation - they have simply never been combined into a single, coherent experience built for the platform's audience. That is an opening, not a coincidence.

Three proven loops feed it. Linear co-op horror brings tense, bounded sessions and real fear. Steal-tycoon games bring the electric tension of loot you can lose. Mining sims bring the satisfying dig loop and enormous mass appeal. Each already commands a huge audience alone. Extraction is what you get when all three overlap: descend, gather under pressure, and race to get out before you lose everything - fear, greed, and grind in one loop.

The chart below shows the overlap as three circles - horror, steal tycoons, mining sims - with extraction sitting where all three meet. That intersection is the unclaimed center: familiar enough that players instantly get it, novel enough that no one owns it yet.

The formula: extraction = linear horror + steal-tycoon tension + mining-sim appeal. Three proven loops, never fused - and that intersection is the unclaimed center.
